A scarce late 19th-century Macmillan edition of Charles Kingsley’s The Hermits, exploring early Christian asceticism and desert monastic life.
This example is particularly desirable, retaining uncut (unopened) pages from page 41 onwards, indicating minimal or no reading since publication. Such copies are increasingly sought after by collectors for their originality and state of preservation.
